50 Awesome Instagram Photos That Will Inspire You to Visit Chiang Rai

Reading Time: 8 minutes

Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to travel regularly. Sometimes you have all opportunity to do but still lack of inspiration to go out and do it. Thanks to Instagram, this mobile app seems to give inspiration to a lot of people to take action for their travel. Viewing Instagram photos of many interesting places, you can at least feel like you’re there before you can actually go there. This photography social network app is home to amazing travelers who post stunning photos sure to inspire your own travel.

Of course Instagram app doesn’t offer high quality photos like those professional cameras do. Some people even blame Instagram for creating a movement of cliché photography as people already see too many of the same kind of photos such as sunset, feet with sandy beach background, cup of coffee and the overuse of faded vintage. Nonetheless, Instagram is best at providing channels for both professional and amateur photographers to tell stories and introduce the audience the interesting places and things around the world. Used by 300 million users worldwide, we can’t agree more on the fact that Instagram is extremely a versatile photo sharing tool available today.

In case you don’t know it yet, in 2012, Suvarnabhumi Airport and Siam Paragon were the number 1 and 2 for the most popular Instagram locations, respectively [Source: Instagram Blog].  In 2013 Bangkok, Thailand was number 2 in the top Instagram cities [Source: Mashable], while Siam Paragon in Bangkok was number 1 for top locations [Source: Instagram Blog]. Instagram Blog hasn’t released the statistics yet, but we know from all other media sites that Siam Paragon in Bangkok is number 4 in the list [Source: Time].

This article we collect 50 beautiful Instagram photos taken in Chiang Rai by ordinary travelers and display them below. Where did we get the list of these photos? We found photos or the Instagram account that own the photos in tags that appear in various discussion boards such as Pantip, Sanook or other blogging websites. We try to avoid photos taken for advertising purposes such as photos by hotels, travel agents, TV channels and magazines.

Please remember even Instagram is good place to see variety of photos, it is definitely NOT the best place to find beautiful photos. In fact, the quality of Instagram photos is nowhere near regular photos posted on a travel discussion board or found anywhere on the Internet. Instead, Instagram photos are social photos that the owners share to other people what they do and what they feel. Many people believed that the viewers can feel that Instagram photos have some story to tell than regular random photos. So the photos we select here will look simple and dull in some way but we think each of them has a story to tell. For each photo, you can explore more about the owner and navigate to his/her other photo directly from here.

So, don’t have time or not sure to visit Chiang Rai yet. It’s ok. Next time you’re feeling gloomy on a Monday morning with a boring job, take a look through these photos for some travel inspiration. If you have never visited or lived in Chiang Rai before, who knows, one day it might be one of your favorite cities.
