Lao Airline Crashed in Mekong River ,Dozens of People Were Killed

BBC : Lao Airline flight QV301 departed from capital Vientiane heading to Pakse on October 16,2013 had crashed in to Mekong river just 8 kms away from Pakse’s airport. The official report said that 44 passengers and 5 crews were killed.

Lao Airline official report said that upon preparing for landing at Pakse airport the plane ran in to extremely bad weather condition and finally crashed into Mekong River without any survivors.

Passenger mostly are Laotian ,some are foreigner including 5 Thais, 3 South Korean as well as some citizens from Canada, China, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, USA and Vietnam.

The crashed plane type is ATR-72 manufactured by a French-Italian company ,this plane has twin engine and ATR-72 is the commonly used by Lao Airline in this region. Lao Airline have only 14 aircrafts in the fleet.
